So Many Things To Do

Dvorak takes pride in the variety of trips they offer and their most important priority is the quality of the experience. From whitewater rafting trips, kayaking and canoeing trips, to fishing adventures, instruction paddling clinics and multi-sport trips including hiking, biking, horseback riding and more, Dvorak Expeditions always cooks up a little “river magic”.

The magic begins even before guests arrive. Dvorak works hard to ensure each guest (whether a first-timer or a Class V) selects the right trip for their abilities and interests. They also limit the number of people on each trip to ensure an atmosphere where everyone can completely enjoy the experience, and they employ experienced guides that share their hearts, souls and expertise with those they are leading. Dvorak’s guides are great river runners, extremely familiar with the area and terrific people as well.

Cast Yourself in a New Direction

Dvorak Expeditions offers fully-guided custom Fly and Spin-Fishing Trips, on one of six exciting—and productive—fishing rivers in Colorado and Idaho.

Trips range in length from half a day to almost a week, and Dvorak will even customize the fishing trip of a lifetime! Inflatable rafts are the usual option, but drift-boat dories are available. In keeping with Dvorak's commitment to providing superior attention and customer service, each trip is designed for no more than two anglers, ensuring an outstanding fishing adventure.

Each fishing expedition includes everything from boating equipment to tasty food and drink. (Fishing equipment is available for rent, or guests can bring their own.) And although the fishing may stop at the end of the day, the service and fun does not. Camping and cooking chores are taken care of while guests relax and soak in the surroundings or, for the fanatic who can't quit, continue to fish from the shore.

Unique Adventure Travel Themes

Whitewater rafting includes many things—rafts, guides, beautiful scenery, lots of water—but it doesn’t often include yoga or classical music.

Classical Music Whitewater Rafting Trip

For more than 10 years, Dvorak has been offering a unique trip that truly defines the phase “river magic”. Ancient sandstone caverns and rock cathedrals along the Dolores and Green Rivers redefine great acoustics and set a new standard in concert hall settings. Relax in the sun while talented musicians from the Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, and New York Philharmonic Symphonies fill the canyons with the works of Mozart, Bach, Handel, Beethoven, Quantz, Kodaly, Ravel, Hindemith and Antonin Dvorak, a fifth generation of Bill Dvorak!

Yoga Adventure Trip

What better place to discover inner peace, discipline and deep reservoirs of strength than on the river, where the senses are already attuned to the exquisite nuances of the surroundings. This

unique adventure involves six days floating on the scenic Green River, camping on deserted beaches, exploring side canyons, and practicing yoga in nature's theater. Inspiration, knowledge and a deeper spiritual awareness are essential components of any river experience. Dvorak offers a Yoga Adventure trip that just may change your life!

Meet the Dvoraks
Bill and Jaci remember the year 1969 with fondness for two reasons—it’s the year they married and the year they began their white water rafting program. The name on Colorado's Outfitter License No. 1 reads Bill and Jaci Dvorak, black-and-white proof that the Dvoraks have pioneered white water rafting in the area. But the license is only the beginning.

An outdoor educator with experience in Australia and New Zealand, as well as the United States, Bill spent many years teaching and traveling overseas. Jaci, and eventually their two children, loved the international experience, although ultimately the family settled in Colorado, where the wild rivers and majestic mountains had stolen their hearts. In 1984, they made it official with the creation of Dvorak's Kayak & Rafting Expeditions, and today running the river with the Dvoraks is one of the best ways in the world to experience white water rafting.

Dvorak Expeditions is a family-owned and operated business, committed to providing quality service at reasonable prices. Bill and Jaci have watched their two children grow up on the river and want other families to have the opportunity to experience the river as well. They know how expensive a family vacation can be and have developed programs that allow families to experience these adventures together.

Let Dvorak cook up a little “river magic” with an amazing variety of kayak and canoe instructional seminars, certified training courses and river rafting tours. Dvorak offers unique ways of traveling downriver and keeps the trips small (2-6 boats) to get the feel of a “private” trip. Dvorak’s trips are fully catered including all boating equipment, delicious meals and beverages. Fishing reels, rods, flies and gear can be rented and assistance in obtaining valid fishing licenses is provided.
