Nancy Harrison – Founding Partner

Adventure Media is the brainchild of founder Nancy Harrison. Nancy only started adventuring at the age of 40 when she learned to ski, whitewater raft and horseback ride while living in Winter Park, Colorado. Moving to Wyoming gave her the opportunity to enjoy fly fishing, hiking and camping, sea kayaking, and many other nature-based activities. Adventure Media was formed in 1999. The Adventure Media Team includes several account managers and writers who support our clients with their special brand of enthusiasm.

Nancy has two grown children and four grandsons, all of whom enjoy the outdoors - fishing, hiking, camping, water sports and snow sports.

Nancy is a true Citizen of the West who has lived her entire life in the Rocky Mountain States. She has become an expert in her field of media relations and spends a good deal of her time each year teaching and lecturing on PR to groups such as The International Ecotourism Society, America Outdoors, the Adventure Travel World Summit and many state and regional conferences and international gatherings.

Travel is Nancy's passion, as you can see by these photos. She spends part of each year on spectacular trips with clients. Nancy visits as many clients as possible to learn about their destinations and trips. Her motto is, “If you’re not living on the edge; you’re taking up too much space!”

See you on the rivers and trails of the world.

Steve Szczecina – Account Manager, Social Media Specialist

The outdoors, travel and adventure are simply a way of life for Steve. He spent his formative years skiing, canoeing, backpacking, playing in the woods and going to summer camp.  Steve pursued his passions at Colorado State University where he not only graduated with a degree in Natural Resource Recreation and Tourism, but also met his wife and developed a full-on adventure addiction. Steve spent his post-graduation winter as a ski bum, working and skiing at Montana’s exclusive Yellowstone Club while he and his wife Laura pondered his future as a college-educated adventure junkie. Fate led Steve back to Fort Collins and to his job at Adventure Media, where he gets to read, write, and talk about outdoor adventure travel all day. When he’s not in the office, Steve can generally be found hiking, biking, camping, backpacking, rafting, rock climbing, and skiing all over Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. Although Steve loves the Rockies, his passion for adventure and travel have also taken him to Mexico, France, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Catalina Island and all across the USA.

Amy Shadell – Account Manager, Destination Specialist

From a very early age Amy Shadell knew two things: first, she would dive with great white sharks and second, she needed to travel the world. Travel genes flow through her DNA. As a child she watched her mother regularly return from world adventures and lovingly looked at photos of her grandparents cruising around Egypt on camels. She covered much of the United States before entering college and was then ready to take on the world.

Four years later she walked away from the University of California Santa Cruz with a B.A. in History of Art and Visual Culture and education in world traveling. Her travel genes finally propelled her to Kleinsbaai, South Africa and the realization of her first dream in 2008. Currently residing in Fort Collins, CO with her husband and pup, Amy looks forward to following where the wind will take her next.
