Spend a little time exploring Bar Harbor
BAR HARBOR, Maine- Stay: No need to stay at a chain hotel, there are many local options for accommodations. Looking for a Tudor Mansion in the heart of town, try Atlantean Inn B&B or perhaps something with packages and a bay view, Bar Harbor Inn may be a perfect fit.
Eat: Stewman’s Lobster Pound was famous for authentic lobster bakes, even before President Obama ate here during his family vacation last summer. In the afternoon stop at The Jordan Pond House for tea and warm popovers.
Play: Snuggle with your sweetheart on a horse-drawn carriage ride through Acadia National Park. The historic carriage roads of Acadia were designed and constructed by John D. Rockefeller Jr.
Be the first:  Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park is considered the first place to welcome the day each morning. Get up early and head to the peak for a spectacular sunrise.
Spend: Enjoy a bit of shopping along the Village Green. Wander through artisan shops, sample olive oils at Fiore, and make sure to check out the quaint home at garden store, Window Panes.
Getting Here: Bar Harbor is a quick hop over from Boston or NYC by plane and a beautiful 3-4 hour drive along the coast from Portland.
