READ Bhutan: Mongar and Trashigang Tsechus

INCLINE VILLAGE,Nev. —  Myths and Mountains, recently named one of the top ten Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth, is offering a unique sojourn this fall tied into its involvement with READ Global. READ was started by the owner of the outfitter to build library/community centers in rural communities, in tandem with local for-profit business ventures that sustain them. To date, over 50 libraries have been built in Nepal and one in India, with more underway. Of course, this engagement with the local people and cultures offers the company access to places and experiences not normally available to tourists.

Founder of Myths and Mountains and READ Global, Dr. Antonia Neubauer, is offering a new trip to explore the inner workings of READ starting up in a new country – Bhutan. The organization initially started up in Nepal, but has since expanded, opening up more opportunities for the public to witness the successes of this miraculous non-profit.On “READ Bhutan: Mongar and Trashigang Tsechus”, Dr. Neubauer will share the accomplishments of the organization by taking groups through the communities and talking with the local people involved in the operations of the READ facilities. When travelers aren’t with the READ staff, they will have the chance to explore the rich history and culture of Bhutan while shopping at outdoor markets, visiting museums and capturing breathtaking views of the Himilayas.

This trip only departs on Nov. 5, 2010, with a land cost of $2,995 per person. Media Contact: Hailey McDonald, 970-379-9363, hailey@atmstravelnews.comwww.mythsandmountains. Photos available. Click here for Media Kit.
