Treat Mom to a Mother’s Day Weekend in The Jewel of Wyoming

SHERIDAN, Wyo.— Known as Wyoming’s Jewel, Sheridan is a destination for those whose love of the great outdoors matches that of authentic western history. From museums and culture to dining and entertainment, Sheridan has plenty to keep Mom entertained throughout her special weekend. Here’s how to make the most of a weekend in Sheridan:

Friday: Night on the Town

Kick the weekend off with dinner at Frackletons before heading to the WYO Theater to get your fill of acclaimed regional and national music and theater. Post show, stroll downtown to play witness to Main Street’s sparkle as it bustles with excitement.

Saturday: Museum Visits Rich in History and Culture

Start the morning off right with a cup of coffee at Java Moon on Main Street, then visit Kings Museum to admire the vast collection of western memorabilia not found anywhere else. When bellies get hungry, lunch at the Wyoming Rib & Chop House is a great choice. After lunch, take a drive to Big Horn and visit the Brinton Museum for amazing western art, premier Indian memorabilia, historic documents, books and house museum at the foot of the Bighorns. Enjoy Saturday night dining at the Powder Horn Grill, located at the Powder Horn Golf Club.

Sunday: Breathtaking Views of the Great Outdoors

Treat Mom to a delicious breakfast at the local favorite Red Velvet Bakery on Main Street. Before leaving this charming spot, grab lunch to-go, head north to Dayton and spend the day hiking up the beautiful Tongue River Canyon. As the weekend draws to a close, rest tired legs and enjoy a casual dinner at Powder River Pizza and Bar.

Regardless of chosen activities, be sure to swing by Mint Bar, the famous speakeasy, for a cocktail before heading off into the sunset! For more information on Sheridan and to plan your next visit, click here.
