PIHRA Launches New Website for All Nations Indian Relay Championships
Find up-to-date information on Indian Relay teams, current standings and everything you need to know about the All Nations Championships this September

BILLINGS, Mont. — The Professional Indian Horse Racing Association (PIHRA) just launched a brand new website, timing its release with the one-month countdown to the All Nations Indian Relay Championships: check out www.letsrelay.com. Indian Relay fans will find everything they need to know about the current relay season, including PIHRA team members and current standings, as well as hotel, ticket and sponsor information for the All Nations Championships.

For those who are new to Indian Relay and want to learn more about America’s first extreme sport, this new website offers information about PIHRA, the history of relay, photo and video galleries, current relay schedule and press releases to find out what has happened so far this season.

PIHRA was founded to promote Indian Relay, horsemanship and safety and has developed a season-long championship series, culminating with the All Nations Indian Relay Championships. There were 17 founding teams in 2013; two years later, PIHRA membership is expected to exceed 60 teams. The teams come from Washington State, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Montana, South Dakota and Canada. The tribes represented in relay include Oglala Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, Blackfeet, Crow, Shoshone-Bannock, Eastern Shoshone, the Colville Confederated Tribes and the Umatilla Confederated Tribes. The vision of the teams and the entire membership is for relay to become a viable cultural and economic entity on the reservations.

This year, the All Nations Indian Relay Championships will be held Sept.17-20 at the historic MetraPark Grandstands in Billings, Mont. The top teams representing 15 Indian nations will compete for more than $75,000 in money prizes, expenses and the coveted Champions’ Jackets and Belt Buckles. Those not in the top six will battle it out during the first, second and third consolation races prior to the championship race on the final day of the Championships. Also included will be the exciting Warriors Races, Indian Ladies Races and the ever-popular Indian Kids’ Relay Races interspersed throughout the daily program.
