World-Class Performances Take the Stage in Sheridan July 13-25, 2015
SHERIDAN, Wyo.— The first ever Wyoming Theater Festival is right around the corner, and the town of Sheridan is gearing up to host artists, audience members and playwrights – including seven time Emmy Award Winner Mark Saltzman – from across the country. On July 13, Sheridan will welcome visitors to the already thriving arts community and the festival will further establish Sheridan as a major creative hub.
Sheridan’s newest summer festival will deliver two weeks of emerging stage plays and musicals, offering artists a fully immersive theater experience and allowing audiences to interact with acclaimed professional theater talents in productions, workshops, lectures, discussions, readings and backstage tours. The goal is to be a major force in the development of new works for the American theater, aiding playwrights and musical theater teams in the creation of their cutting-edge work.
Original plays will be presented on the Mars Theater and WYO Theater stages throughout the festival, including Romeo and Bernadette, UTAH, Untouched and Eddie Pez Rex. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with playwrights, choreographers, actors and support staff during workshops, backstage tours and after-theater gatherings.
